Dr. Supriya Sharma is an Assistant Professor at Central Department of Microbiology, Tribhuvan University. She obtained her PhD in Microbiology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in collaboration with Norwegian Institute of Public Health, Norway under UGC research fellowship. Her research focused on molecular characterization of carriage and meningitis associated Neisseria meningitidis in Nepal. Dr. Sharma has received national and international awards/grants, including Early career fellowship award (2022) by UNESCO-OWSD and Young Scientist award (2023) by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology. As a Principal Investigator, Dr. Sharma has successfully completed research projects related to infectious diseases, climate change, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB), NAST, Rector’s Office- Tribhuvan University.  She is currently leading various research projects on AMR, infectious diseases, nanoparticles, etc funded by UNESCO-OWSD and UGC, Nepal. She has made significant contributions to the development of syllabus for B.Sc and M.Sc microbiology program.
